“Nurture with Jyoti” provides private lactation support and education delivered by an IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) via in‑person and virtual consultations.

2. Scope and Legal Basis
We process personal data in accordance with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Lawful bases (Article 6): performance of a contract; legitimate interests (service quality and safety); consent (optional communications).
Special category data (Article 9): explicit consent for information about health, pregnancy, birth and infant feeding. Where relevant, processing may also be for the provision of health care or treatment (Art 9(2)(h)).
3. Data We Collect
• Identity and contact data (name, email, phone/WhatsApp handle, address, emergency contact).
• Booking and payment metadata (date/time, service type, invoice number). Payment is processed by third‑party providers; we do not store card details.
• Consultation records: information you provide about pregnancy, birth, feeding history, medications, allergies and infant factors; photos or videos you choose to share for positioning/latch review (optional).
• Communications data: messages sent via email, contact form or WhatsApp; feedback and testimonials (with consent).
• Website usage data: basic analytics and cookies (see Cookies section).
4. Purpose of Processing
• To schedule and deliver consultations and follow‑up support.
• To maintain accurate clinical notes and care plans.
• To respond to enquiries and provide general information.
• To manage invoices, accounts and tax records.
• To improve service quality and manage risk (e.g., supervision, audit). We do not use your data for targeted advertising.
5. Children’s Information
We keep records relating to the infant’s feeding only as provided by the parent/guardian. We do not communicate directly with children online, and all decisions and consents are provided by the adult client.
6. Sharing Your Data (Processors/Recipients)
We use trusted service providers (processors) who act on our instructions and are bound by contracts, confidentiality and security obligations, e.g.:
• Email and cloud storage (e.g., Microsoft/Google)
• Website hosting/analytics
• Messaging providers (WhatsApp) for client communications
• Accounting/invoicing tools
• Video platforms for virtual consultations
International transfers: Where data is transferred outside the UK (e.g., to the EEA or USA), we ensure appropriate safeguards (Standard Contractual Clauses with the UK Addendum or adequacy decisions).
7. Retention
• Consultation records: 7 years from last contact; for records relating to a child, until the child’s 21st birthday (or 7 years from last contact, if later).
• Enquiries not leading to care: 12 months.
• Invoices and tax records: 6 years plus current financial year.
• Media (photos/videos) shared for clinical purposes: retained within the clinical record and deleted on request where not required for legal or regulatory reasons.
8. Your Rights
You may request: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and data portability. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
