Terms and Conditions

Welcome to Nurture with Jyoti. By booking a consultation, you confirm that you have read and understood these terms.

​

1. About the Services
1.1 Private lactation consultations are provided in person (home visits) and via video. Services are evidence‑based and personalised to the information you provide.
1.2 Services are provided in the capacity of an IBCLC (not as midwifery care). No clinical examinations, prescriptions or medical treatment are provided. You should seek medical care from your GP/midwife/health professional where appropriate.

2. Booking, Payment and Pricing
2.1 Bookings are accepted via website form, email, phone or WhatsApp. Your booking is confirmed once payment is received (unless otherwise agreed in writing).
2.2 Prices are as advertised on the website or confirmed in writing. Travel and overtime fees may apply (see clause 7).
2.3 Invoices are payable immediately unless agreed otherwise. Late payments may attract reasonable admin fees and interest under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts legislation (if applicable).

3. Consumer Cancellation Rights (Distance Contracts)
3.1 If you are a consumer booking remotely (e.g., email/phone/online), you have a 14‑day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, starting from the date of booking.
3.2 If you ask us to begin the service within the 14‑day period and later cancel, you will pay for the portion already supplied up to cancellation. If the service is fully performed within the 14 days with your express request, your right to cancel is lost.
3.3 To cancel, email nurturewithjyoti@outlook.com with your name, booking date/time and request to cancel. We will confirm receipt in writing.

4. Rescheduling & Provider Cancellations
4.1 Please give at least 24 hours’ notice to reschedule. Where less than 24 hours’ notice is given, a 25% late cancellation charge may apply.
4.2 If we must cancel (e.g., illness, unforeseen circumstances), you may choose a new appointment or a full refund of fees paid for the cancelled session.

5. Scope of Practice & Client Responsibilities
5.1 Advice is given within the IBCLC scope. Outcomes cannot be guaranteed due to individual variation.
5.2 You are responsible for: (a) providing accurate information; (b) following safety guidance; (c) seeking medical care if advised or in emergencies.
5.3 Safeguarding: concerns for the safety of a child or vulnerable adult may require disclosure to appropriate services in accordance with law and professional obligations.

6. Records, Privacy and Confidentiality
6.1 We maintain confidential records of consultations. Use of your data is governed by our Privacy Policy.
6.2 We may share information with other healthcare professionals with your consent, or where permitted/required by law.

7. Fees — Travel & Overtime
7.1 Out‑of‑Area travel (each way ≥ 40 minutes from South London base):
• Single consultations: £55; • Multi‑visit packages: £150 total (covers all 3 visits in the package).
7.2 Overtime/Extended Session Fees:
• In‑person: £40 per additional 30 minutes; • Video: +£35 if up to 30 minutes over; if more than 30 minutes over, the full hourly fee of £80 applies to the additional time.

7.3 Urgent / Out-of-Hours Appointments

Where a consultation is requested at short notice (same-day) or outside of standard working hours, an urgent appointment fee of £50 will apply in addition to the consultation fee. This fee reflects the need to rearrange existing commitments and provide support at short notice or out of hours. The urgent appointment fee will be confirmed with you prior to booking.
7.4 Any additional equipment or testing requested by you will be quoted and agreed in advance (if applicable).

8. Virtual Consultations
8.1 You are responsible for ensuring a private environment, adequate internet connection and device setup. I may recommend an in‑person visit if clinically appropriate.​

9. Liability
9.1 Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or other liabilities that cannot be excluded under law.
9.2 Subject to 9.1, the services are provided “as is” and we exclude implied warranties to the fullest extent permitted. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss or for decisions made based on general information outside a consultation.

10. WhatsApp Support
10.1 WhatsApp support is included for two weeks after a postnatal consultation; for bespoke packages, from the antenatal session until two weeks post follow‑up.
10.2 Where WhatsApp messaging support is included or purchased, this is intended for brief check-ins, updates, clarification of advice already given, and minor adjustments within an existing care plan. WhatsApp support does not replace a consultation and is not suitable for new, complex, or ongoing concerns. Where further assessment or changes are required, I will advise that a follow-up consultation is booked.
10.3 Hours: 9 am–6 pm, Monday–Saturday. I aim to reply within 24 hours. Support is not for emergencies.​

10.4 Phone or video calls outside of booked consultations are not included in WhatsApp support and are charged separately.

11. Intellectual Property
11.1 Materials shared with you (handouts, plans) are for your personal use only and must not be reproduced or shared publicly without permission.

12. Force Majeure
12.1 We are not liable for failure to perform due to events beyond reasonable control (e.g., illness, extreme weather, outages). We will rearrange or refund where appropriate.

13. Complaints
13.1 Please raise concerns to nurturewithjyoti@outlook.com. We aim to respond within 3 working days and to resolve within 28 days.

14. Changes to Terms
14.1 We may update these Terms to reflect changes in services or law. The latest version on the website applies to new bookings.

15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
15.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
